WORDS FROM THE DIRECTOR
The purpose of this film is so that Jew and non-Jews alike, from across the globe, can be made aware of the amazing opportunity that is March of the Living. The Holocaust was not just a tragedy to Jews, but to all of mankind. As a young Jewish adult, I feel that it is up to our generation to make sure we do not forget what happened and where we are now. My goal is to inspire people from all around the world to want to participate in a program that is so important for our history and the Jewish legacy.
ABOUT THE MARCH
The March of the Living is an annual educational program, which brings individuals from all over the world to Poland and Israel in order to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hate. Since the first March of the Living was held in 1988, over 220,000 participants, from 52 countries, have marched down the same 3 kilometer path leading from Auschwitz to Birkenau on Holocaust Remembrance Day – Yom Hashoah – as a silent tribute to all victims of the Holocaust.
More information on the March of the Living can be found on the March of the Living International website or via the March of the Living organisers in your country.
